Why are the caravans so expensive in Benidorm?

I’ve been looking at retiring in Spain for many years and our idea was to always retire on one of the campsites. One thing I’ve noticed over the last couple of years is the dramatic price rise of the caravans for sale. I thought that after Brexit the prices would come down but it doesn’t seem to be the case. Or, I’m missing something?

Do what we do and take your own. We leave it in storage when not using it so save on the site fees. Most sites have storage and it only costs 30 euro to bring it and take away from site.

All comes down to supply and demand. If people willing to pay the price, people will ask it. The same caravans in the UK significantly less but a caravan in bognor is cheaper than a caravan in Cornwall.

Caravans go up and down depending on the time of year. Benidorm is one of the most popular areas so the prices will always be higher. Depends what you want really – a fully kitted caravan or a basic one, a campsite near the centre or one further out. All factors affect the prices. We bought when Benidorm wasn’t as popular and we paid £12000 for a full set up with awning, kitchen etc. If we sold today, it’s probably worth £20 – £25000. Who says caravans aren’t good investments! We’ll have made more than if we bought a villa.

Hi looking for a caravan I’m retired and have permanent residency in spain. My house is rented out and looking for something in benidorm. I only have €12000 euros to spend but if you hear of anything could you let me know. I also speak fluent spanish. Thank you

Yes, me too! I would love to retire to Benidorm in the future and would be looking to spend around 10000 pounds. Don’t mind which campsite. Anywhere is better in the sun

Looks like the prices are coming down. Seen some good priced ones going up for sale on facebook
