It’s been a while now since Camping Villamar upgraded their bar, restaurant, pool area and supermarket but we wanted to give them until the end of their first Summer period before highlighting the success of the changes.
Villamar has always been regarded as one of the best Campsites in Benidorm and to be honest, their facilities have always been good. That said, time is on no-ones side and the campsite moved to implement some major changes to keep everything looking fresh and modern.
The campsite facilities don’t even feel like facilities you’d associate with a campsite anymore. They’re more in keeping with a premium hotel – with high end finishes throughout, well designed spaces and a new restaurant menu.
The restaurant was probably the area in need of most attention and they’ve done an amazing job of creating some amazing changes, Gone are the brown wooden tables, chair and bar are to be replace with sleek white furniture – all centered around the focal point of the bar. To compliment each well designed area, mood lighting has now replaced the harsh white lighting, giving the whole room a more relaxed and ambient feeling.
The menu has now been fully updated to include all of our favourites, but presented in a way that reflects a modern bistro. We all love a Villamar Full English Breakfast but it’s nice to see that attempts have been made to upgrade an old basic menu.
WOW, is the first thought that springs to mind! The outside terrace in particular is a world away from the previous design. It’s difficult to explain without taking you there, but literally everything has been upgraded and the modern feel runs throughout. Imagine Love Island – In Benidorm – on a Campsite, but without the cheesiness. It really is a classy experience and is now an premium area – perfect for both the day time and the night time
We’ve been visiting Camping Villamar for over 10 years, so we’ve got to know Angela who runs the place well. The supermarket always had a great reputation and stocked everything (yes, I mean everything!) and prices were comparable to nearby supermarkets. It’s pleasing to see that all of the British staple products have been expanded and the shopping experience no longer means that you have to fight with other shoppers just to get up and down the aisles. Before, it felt like a small convenience store. Whereas now, it feels like a fully fledged Supermarket.
